
Over the last 22 years, the Tacoma Nomad Rugby Club has been making great efforts to increase the amount of youth rugby in the Pierce County Area. Currently the Tacoma Nomad Rugby Club has three youth teams and are always looking to expand to more area high schools.
In the Fall of 2008 the Harbour Storm Rugby Program was formed, our first girls team. The Storm were developed to bring awareness of the game to a larger number of High School students in the Gig Harbor area.
The Tacoma Nomad Rugby Club currently sponsor the Harbour Storm High School Rugby Program and are led by veteran Nomad players Mark Bond and Mark Wehn. All high school girls in the Gig Harbor Area are welcome to come out and play.
The Pacific Northwest Rugby Football Union currently has 8 other High School Programs representing its youth programs in Washington. The PNRFU youth season runs from February when the season starts. To May when the U.S. High School Championships take place.

Storm Practice Schedule:
Currently the Harbour Storm are practicing at Harbor Ridge Middle School. Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM till 5:30 PM.

Storm Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Harbour Storm High School Rugby program is to introduce the second most played game in the world, RUGBY, to as many High School students as possible.
To this end, it is the goal of the Tacoma Nomad Rugby Club to teach basic skills and fundamentals of the game, maintain a policy of no cuts, promote universal participation, utilize positive reinforcement, foster pride in individual accomplishment, develop and maintain an all inclusive team spirit, encourage parental involvement and the bottom line, HAVE FUN.
