The 32nd Annual Tacoma Aroma Summers 7’s Tournament, the longest running 7’s Tournament in the Pacific Northwest, was once again a huge success. This year’s Aroma 7’s Tournament was held on a beautiful sunny Saturday, July 25th 2009 with highs in the low 90’s. The tournament was played at Chambers Creek Fields in University Place, the best fields in this years summer 7’s series.
We had 16 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams competing on the day. With Somoa One vs. Chuckanut in the Cup Final, Libery vs. Valley in the Plate Final, Tacoma vs. Western Washington in the Bowl Final and the Mudhens in the Women’s Final. Somoa took it to Chuckanut winning the Cup Final. The Liberty boys downing the Valley Men in the Plate Final. In the game of the day Tacoma losing by 2 to Western Washington in the Bowl Final with no time left. And the Mudhens winning the Women’s Final.
Next years Tacoma Aroma 7’s Tournament and Pacific Coast Qualifier will be held on Saturday July 31st 2010. Stay tuned for more information.
